Dulce Magalhães was a distinguished Brazilian philosopher, speaker, author, and businesswoman, recognized globally for her contributions to peace and personal development. Born in Curitiba and later residing in Florianópolis, she was honored as one of the “100 Leaders of Peace” by the Geneva-based Peace Foundation and played a key role in organizing and hosting the 10th World Peace Forum in 2016 in Florianópolis, the capital of Santa Catarina.

Dulce’s academic background was extensive and international: she held a Ph.D. in Philosophy from Columbia University in the United States, a Master’s in Business Communication from the University of London, and specialized in both Marketing at ESPM-SP and Adult Education at the Universities of Rome and Oxford. Her career spanned over 26 years, focused on change and learning processes, making her one of Brazil’s ten most in-demand speakers. She delivered more than 2,000 lectures, sharing insights on personal and societal transformation.

As an author, Dulce was prolific, publishing 16 books and over 900 articles in Correio do Povo and various magazines. Her writings and lectures championed personal growth, peace, and business innovation. She also served as a former director of the Florianópolis Metropolitan Region Business Association (AEMFLO) and was part of a committee of 80 global leaders coordinated by former U.S. President Bill Clinton to develop a Global Program for a Culture of Peace.

Dulce passed away on February 6, 2017, in São Paulo, after a battle with cancer. Her final public appearance was at the “World Congress on Gratitude,” where she emphasized the transformative power of gratitude. Her legacy remains impactful, blending thought leadership in peace initiatives with a lifelong commitment to fostering change and inspiring others through her words and actions.
