Work Description

UNOY Peacebuilders, a global network linking 142 youth-led peace building organisations across 81 countries, has become a leading force in advancing youth participation in peacebuilding and policy reform. By directly supporting youth organisations and engaging in high-level advocacy at the United Nations, UNOY ensures that young peacebuilders are not only heard, but actively included in transforming conflicts and building peace.

In 2015, UNOY Peacebuilders played a pivotal role in the adoption of United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250 in support of inclusion of youth in peacebuilding. This landmark resolution formally recognised the vital and positive role of young people in the maintenance and promotion of international peace and security. The achievement followed an extensive global advocacy and consultation process led by youth organisations worldwide, marking a historic milestone for inclusive peacebuilding.

“Youth are not just future leaders but essential change-makers in the present, driving meaningful progress towards peace.” – UNOY member, Inclusive Bangladesh
